Patrick Hopewell
Patrick joined the CIO portfolio in July 2009 as the Director of Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions in I+TS where he is responsible for the server and storage infrastructure supporting the University's central administrative systems as well as the University's campus backbone network. Prior to this role, he was the Director of Information Technology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. A graduate of University College, he first joined the University’s technology staff in 1995 as a client services specialist, moving shortly thereafter to network and systems administration. After a stint in the private sector as a Senior UNIX System Administrator, Patrick returned to OISE to a series of progressively more senior management positions. Patrick is well known in the University IT community through his committee work, collaborative IT projects and mentoring program participation. He has developed IT service relationships with several University divisions and public sector partners. He has designed and implemented extensive research technology including innovative collaborative communications facilities.
