Facebook, with its 670 million users (notwithstanding the recent studies showing usage dropping in developed countries) is much smaller than Google in terms of engineering, scope, revenue... But, it has vast stores of personal data. As does Google, but of a different ilk. How these two will move forward and compete is one of the main topics of the issue.

If you can get hold of a copy, the whole issue is very good and worthwhile reading.
