U of T hosts Kuali Student development leader

The CIO is pleased to announce the participation of Rajiv Kaushik as a new member of the Information + Technology Services (I+TS) team.

Rajiv Kaushik joined us on Tuesday, August 3rd in the role of Director, Kuali Student Development, under a partnership arrangement with the Kuali Foundation. Now based at U of T, Rajiv will continue to lead the Kuali Student product development team of about 40 staff distributed across universities in the US and Canada.

Kuali is a growing community of universities, colleges, businesses and other organizations that have partnered to build and sustain open-source administrative software for higher education. Partners include the University of British Columbia, University of California - Berkeley, University of Washington, and Indiana University. University of Toronto joined Kuali in 2009 and is an active partner in the delivery of Kuali’s first software-as-a-service offering, Kuali Ready, a business continuity planning tool. It is anticipated that Rajiv’s presence at U of T will assist in our evaluation of Kuali Student as a potential tool in the implementation of our next Generation Student Information Services (NGSIS) program.

Rajiv holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, and a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems from Florida State. He comes to Toronto with 13 years of leadership and technical experience developing IT systems, mostly in the university sector. He has been with the Kuali Student project for two years, located at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Rajiv’s office is located at 215 Huron St., 4th Floor and he may be reached by phone at 8-5048, or via email at rajiv [dot] kaushik [at] utoronto [dot] ca

Please join us in welcoming Rajiv to the University.
